When an electric current flows through a wire, it produces a magnetic field around that wire.
What happens when the electric current is turned off?
If you bring a magnet near a metal wire, an electric current will be created.
What happens when the electric current is turned off?
- The magnetic field disappears.
If you bring a magnet near a metal wire, an electric current will be created.
- This relationship is called electromagnetism.
- An electromagnet is a temporary magnet produced by running electric current through a metal object.
